TIPS TO MAKE YOUR STAND DOWN STAND OUT

OSHA, the "Occupational Safety health Administration" established by United States Department of Labors has one main purpose i.e. to prevent health issues and physical loss of workers. Comprising about 2,200 inspectors accountable for the health and safety of 130 million workers in employment and more than 8 million work sites across the country, the total number of safety and health inspectors are one for 59,000 workers. Approximately, 13 American workers are killed doing their job each day. About 4 million people are badly injured on the job site and tens of thousands die each year. Falls are the biggest cause of death in the construction industry and manual works. About 291 out of 828 serious falls occurred in 2013, highest till now. It is regretted to say that those deaths were preventable if three simple steps could have taken place that are, plan to get the work done safely, providing the accurate material and objects for doing the job and training the staff to use the equipment properly and safely.

The management and staff of OSHA have launched an app to keep in touch with upcoming events and brand activities of laborers, but it could only happen if you register your events with it. According to OSHA, employers have a huge obligation to provide secure and hazard free workplace to the workers to minimize the hazards that could occur during work hours. If certain measures for safety are not taken by the employer, they must pay the fine for it under the Act of occupational Safety & Health (OSH), the fine charges would then be deposited to the U.S. Treasury. In every office or company, it is made possible for every worker to have a look at OSHA poster. Employers need to provide a comfortable environment, proper break and rest hours if needed during labor. OSHA has the penalty policy for violating the standards from minimum $7000 to $70,000. The employees must be well trained to do the heavy load of work and must be aware of load-carrying capacities of ladders. There are so many precautionary measures OSHA provides to workers, if any employee gets injured during the job, they must call 911 for an immediate rescue and medical assistance. OSHA provides all sort of educational assistance and products plus their workplace rights and employer responsibilities. OSHA has aligned with the National Institute to save the workers nationwide interacting with them through campaigns to raise awareness to keep workers safe from fall hazards during construction. Thinking of the second face of a coin, as a good citizen, everyone must alert others by the rules and safety policy of OSHA to make laborers and their families safe and sound during work hours.
